Our Shame with Sackler
The medical school and the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University perpetuate the name of Dr. Sackler.
The Purdue Pharma company, which is owned by part of the Sackler family, produced a highly addictive drug called OxyContin and distributed it as a non-addictive drug, with a combination of lies, bribery, deception and threats, all for the sake of blind money.
Her actions were a factorIn the opioid crisis that caused the death of about 400 women, men and girls.
The family escaped punishment through plea deals totaling approximately 6 billion dollars.
Her name was removed from many institutions around the world, but not from the School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University.

The petition to remove our shame with Sackler has been launched! So far, the petition has been signed by: 20 lecturers and 15 students at the medical school, 25 active doctors, 20 lecturers and 25 students at Tel Aviv University, and dozens more from academia and the general public.
